Abstract

Purpose : This study was conducted to compare with the status of foot health between Armed Forces Nursing Academy cadets and female college students.

Method : The self-rated questionnaires were completed by 378 subjects from nursing cadets and 356 subjects from female college students. The 40-items questionnaires consist of 8 domains : demographic data, foot problems, status of foot, fashion sensitivity, foot fatigue, types of shoes, self esteem and foot-care.

Results : Armed Forces Nursing Academy cadets reported a higher level of foot problems and foot fatigue and complained a higher frequency of abnormality in toe nails and foot skin than female college students.

Conclusion : The self education and management about foot-care can be recommended for Armed Forces Nursing Academy cadets. Also, the foot-care requirements and facilities are needed for them.
